Hexaware Interview Questions and Hiring Process

The short answer

Hexaware hires through its jobs portal, jobs.hexaware.com: you submit your profile, Hexaware reviews it, and it says it communicates clearly at each stage from first contact to final offer. It doesn’t publish its interview rounds or any test format, so prepare for technical questions on your projects and fundamentals, and for questions on its values, starting with “Put People First”.

  • Hexaware’s five values are Put People First, Create Customer Value, Innovate Relentlessly, Be Sustainable and Come On In, and it says they reflect how it hires.
  • Graduates join through Hexaware’s Mavericks programme; business-school graduates through its HFLX management trainee programme.
  • Hexaware says it never asks candidates to deposit money for a job offer.
  • Hexaware doesn’t publish a question list, its round structure or a timeline.

Cohesyve, which publishes this guide, runs practice job simulations with a scored report on where you lost marks. Cohesyve isn’t affiliated with Hexaware and doesn’t use Hexaware’s tests or questions.

Hexaware is an IT services company, and it hires through its jobs portal at jobs.hexaware.com. Its Join Hexaware page says its recruitment process is "transparent, inclusive, and designed to find the right fit for every applicant", and that it communicates clearly "from first contact to final offer".

Hexaware doesn't publish its interview rounds, any test format or a timeline on the pages we could read. Where it doesn't say something, we say so. The interview questions below are ones to prepare for; Hexaware doesn't publish its questions.

What is the Hexaware hiring process?

You submit your profile for an open role, go through the selection steps the role needs, and get an offer if you're selected. Hexaware says you "will know where you stand and what to expect" at each stage, so ask your recruiter or placement cell what your steps are.

Applying

  • Experienced hires apply for a listed role on jobs.hexaware.com. Hexaware says it reviews every submission.
  • Freshers on a campus drive should follow the drive notice from their placement cell. Hexaware's programs and learning page says its Mavericks programme turns "engineering and non-engineering graduates into skilled Hexawarians", but it doesn't publish eligibility rules or selection steps.
  • Business-school graduates may join HFLX, which Hexaware describes as a "fast-track management trainee program for high-potential graduates from leading business schools".
  • Tailor your CV to the role, so the skills the job asks for are easy to find.

Does Hexaware have an online assessment?

Hexaware doesn't say on its public pages whether it uses an online test, or what one would contain. Treat sections, question counts and cut-offs you read on prep sites as unconfirmed.

If you're sent a test, read the invitation carefully: it usually names the platform and the time allowed. Our guides to questions in aptitude tests and interview test questions explain the main kinds of test, such as aptitude, coding and skills tests, and how to prepare for each. A few points apply to any of them:

  • Find out what kind of test it is before you start. Ask the recruiter if the invitation doesn't say.
  • Set aside uninterrupted time on a laptop with a reliable connection.
  • Work as you normally would. Hexaware publishes no answer key.

What is the Hexaware interview process?

Hexaware doesn't publish how many interview rounds it runs or how long they last. It does say its five values "reflect how we hire, how we work, and how we treat one another", so expect interviewers to listen for them.

Prepare for three kinds of question, whatever the round structure turns out to be:

  • Technical: the language or tools on your CV, the fundamentals of your degree or specialism, and your projects.
  • Behavioural: how you've handled teamwork, customers, deadlines and mistakes. Answer with the STAR method.
  • Fit: why Hexaware and why this role.

Ask the person who schedules your interview who you'll meet and what each round covers. Hexaware says you will know what to expect, so it's a fair question.

What happens after the Hexaware interview?

Hexaware doesn't publish how long results take or what checks follow an offer. Ask your recruiter for the expected timeline and the documents you'll need.

Its fake job offer warning sets out what a genuine process looks like:

  • No payment. "Hexaware never asks any candidate to deposit money in exchange for job offers", whatever your experience level.
  • Offers come from Hexaware directly, and official email typically ends in @hexaware.com. Hexaware says it doesn't send offers from free email services, and to treat offers through third-party intermediaries as suspicious.
  • No early requests for bank or identity details. Hexaware says its recruiters won't ask for these until you've progressed further in the process.
  • Report anything suspicious to careers@hexaware.com.

Common Hexaware interview questions and how to answer them

These are questions to prepare for. Hexaware's values are "Put People First. Create Customer Value. Innovate Relentlessly. Be Sustainable. Come On In." Its purpose is to create smiles "through great people and technology", and its vision is "to be the world's most loved digital transformation partner". Several answers below draw on these.

1. Tell me about yourself.

Keep it to about a minute: your degree or current role, one piece of work you're proud of, and the skills you'd bring. End on why this Hexaware role fits, so the interviewer has an easy next question.

2. Walk me through a project on your CV.

Explain the problem, your part in it, the technology you used and what you'd change. Hexaware calls itself "AI-powered", so if the project used AI or automation, say what it did. Expect follow-up questions on any tool you name, so mention only what you can explain in depth.

3. Which programming language or tool are you strongest in?

Pick the one you've used most and be ready for its basics: data types, control flow, functions, error handling and how you'd debug a simple fault. For non-coding roles, pick the main tool of your field.

4. Explain a core concept from your subject.

Revise the fundamentals of your specialism, such as object-oriented programming, databases or operating systems for software roles. Explain one idea simply with an example, and say so if you don't know something rather than guessing.

5. Why do you want to join Hexaware?

Be specific. Hexaware calls itself "People-first. AI-powered.", so link your answer to both: the learning and support you're looking for, and the technology work you want to do. Mention a programme such as Mavericks if it applies to you.

6. Tell me about a time you put a teammate first.

Hexaware's first value is "Put People First". Use STAR: describe how you helped a colleague, what it cost you and what changed for the team.

7. How have you created value for a customer or user?

This maps to "Create Customer Value". Pick a time you understood what someone needed and delivered it, even in a college project. Say how you knew it worked.

8. Tell me about something you improved or built on your own initiative.

"Innovate Relentlessly" is a Hexaware value, and its Brainbox programme rewards employees for ideas that help customers. A small, real improvement beats a long list of buzzwords. Say what changed as a result.

9. How do you keep learning new technology?

Hexaware puts weight on learning programmes and certifications. Name one skill or certification you've worked on recently, how you studied and what you can now do.

10. Tell me about a time you worked with people from different backgrounds.

Hexaware's values include "Come On In", and its Join Hexaware page says "Every perspective is welcome here." Show how you listened, adapted and got the work done together.

11. Tell me about a mistake you made and what you learned.

Use STAR. Choose a real, small mistake, own it and show what you changed afterwards.

12. Do you have any questions for us?

Ask about the training new joiners get, the project or client the team works with, or how the team measures a good first year.

How to prepare for the Hexaware interview

  1. Read the job description closely and note the technologies and skills it names.
  2. Read Hexaware's Join Hexaware page so you can talk about its purpose and five values in your own words.
  3. Revise one language or core tool thoroughly and the fundamentals of your subject.
  4. Rehearse your project explanation out loud in two minutes.
  5. Prepare four or five STAR stories on teamwork, a customer, an improvement you made and a mistake. Our list of behavioural interview questions gives you more to practise on, and a mock interview helps you hear how you sound.
  6. Ask the recruiter what each step covers. Hexaware doesn't publish its rounds, so the recruiter is your best source.
  7. Check that every message comes from Hexaware, and never pay to get a job.

Practising realistic work tasks

Cohesyve, which publishes this guide, runs practice job simulations for your role, with a scored report on where you lost marks. It isn't affiliated with Hexaware and doesn't use Hexaware's tests or questions.
