Wipro hires freshers through campus and national hiring programmes. On its Elite drive for the 2023 batch, you registered, took an 80-minute online assessment, then had a business discussion round with Wipro's team, and selected candidates got a Letter of Intent and a final offer. Wipro's 2025 WILP page describes the same assessment and business discussion.
The process details below come from Wipro's careers pages and its programme pages, linked as we go. Where Wipro doesn't say something, we say so. The interview questions are ones to prepare for; Wipro doesn't publish its questions.

What is the Wipro hiring process?
It depends on your degree and which programme you apply through. Wipro's Early Careers page lists several, including:
- Elite: technical graduate hiring for new engineering graduates.
- Turbo: technical hiring for engineers from a set of institutes that includes IIITs and NITs.
- WILP (Wipro Integrated Learning Program): for BCA and B.Sc. graduates, who work full time while pursuing an M.Tech sponsored by Wipro.
- Other routes: internships for business school students, law school and CA hiring, MBA programmes, and programmes for diploma holders and non-engineering graduates.
Experienced professionals apply for specific roles through Wipro's job search. Wipro's careers site doesn't describe the steps for lateral hiring.
Who could apply for Elite
Wipro's Elite Hiring Program page for the National Talent Hunt 2023 set these rules for that batch:
- Degree: B.E. or B.Tech, or a 5-year integrated M.E. or M.Tech.
- Branches: all except Fashion Technology, Textile Engineering, Agriculture and Food Technology.
- Marks: 60% or 6.0 CGPA (or equivalent) in graduation.
- Backlogs: one backlog allowed at the time of the assessment.
That page is for the 2023 batch. Check the rules for your own batch on the registration page before you apply.

What is the Wipro online assessment?
It's an 80-minute online test of your verbal, analytical, quantitative and written communication skills. For Elite, Wipro says the test is "followed by coding". WILP uses an 80-minute assessment covering the same four skill areas, according to Wipro's WILP page.
Wipro doesn't publish how the 80 minutes are split, how many questions there are, whether coding sits inside that time, whether there's negative marking or what score you need. Treat those details on prep sites as unconfirmed.
You can still prepare for each skill area:
- Verbal: reading comprehension, grammar and vocabulary. Our guide to verbal reasoning tests explains the usual formats.
- Analytical: patterns, sequences and logical deductions. See our logical reasoning examples.
- Quantitative: percentages, ratios, time and work, and data interpretation. Our guide to aptitude test questions covers the common types.
- Written communication: write short, clear, correctly spelt answers. Practise writing a 150-word email or paragraph in a few minutes.
- Coding (Elite): practise simple problems in the language you know best, and test your code against edge cases.
What is the Wipro voice assessment?
WILP candidates who clear the online test take a 20-minute voice assessment before the business discussion. Wipro doesn't describe what it contains. Speak clearly, at a steady pace, and practise reading aloud and answering short questions out loud beforehand.
What is the Wipro interview process?
For Elite and WILP, the interview stage is a business discussion round with Wipro's team, for candidates who clear the online assessment. Wipro doesn't publish how long it lasts or split it into named technical and HR rounds, so prepare for both kinds of question.
Wipro's fraud awareness page adds two useful facts for every candidate:
- Wipro's hiring process involves at least one interview, virtual or in person.
- Wipro won't ask you to interview over instant messaging apps such as WhatsApp or Telegram.
What happens after the Wipro interview?
If you clear the business discussion, Wipro's recruitment team sends you a Letter of Intent and then the final offer letter. WILP candidates attend a pre-skilling training programme before the offer letter. Wipro doesn't publish how long results take.
Before you act on any offer, check it against what Wipro says on its fraud awareness page:
- No fees. Wipro doesn't charge any fee at any stage of recruitment, and hasn't authorised anyone to collect one.
- Genuine emails come from @wipro.com. Offers from public email addresses or unknown WhatsApp, Telegram or LinkedIn accounts are a warning sign.
- No bank details. Wipro's recruiters don't ask for bank account details, tax forms or credit card information.
- Report anything suspicious to helpdesk.recruitment@wipro.com. Don't send your CV there; it isn't monitored for applications.
Common Wipro interview questions and how to answer them
These are questions to prepare for in the business discussion. Wipro's values, the Spirit of Wipro, are: be passionate about clients' success, treat each person with respect, be global and responsible, and unyielding integrity in everything we do. Wipro also names Five Habits: being respectful, being responsive, always communicating, demonstrating stewardship and building trust. Several answers below draw on them.
1. Tell me about yourself.
Keep it to about a minute: your degree, one project you're proud of, the skills you'd bring and why you applied to Wipro. Finish on the role, so the interviewer has an easy next question.
2. Walk me through your final-year project.
Explain the problem, your part in it, the tools you used and what you'd change. Expect follow-up questions on anything you name, so mention only what you can explain.
3. Which programming language are you most comfortable with?
Pick the one you used in the coding section or your project. Be ready for basics: data types, loops, functions, and how you'd find a bug in a short piece of code.
4. Explain a concept from your core subjects.
Revise the basics of object-oriented programming, databases, operating systems and networks. Explain one idea simply with an example. If you don't know something, say so rather than guessing; that's unyielding integrity in practice.
5. Why do you want to join Wipro?
Be specific: a Wipro service line, client industry or training programme that interests you, and why. For WILP, talk about working while studying for the sponsored M.Tech and how you'd manage both.
6. Tell me about a time you helped someone else succeed.
Use the STAR method. A story about helping a teammate or a "client" in a college project shows you understand being passionate about clients' success.
7. Tell me about a time you disagreed with a teammate.
Show that you listened, kept to facts and agreed a way forward. This maps to treat each person with respect and the habit of being respectful.
8. Tell me about a time you had to respond quickly.
Pick a real deadline or a last-minute change. Explain what you did first and how you kept others informed. That covers being responsive and always communicating.
9. Tell me about a mistake you made.
Choose a small, real mistake, own it and say what changed afterwards. Owning the outcome without blaming others is demonstrating stewardship and building trust.
10. How do you learn a new technology quickly?
Give a recent example: what you learnt, how you learnt it and what you built. Wipro trains new joiners, so show that you learn well on your own too.
11. For WILP: how will you manage full-time work alongside the M.Tech?
Wipro's Early Careers page says WILP graduates work full time while pursuing an M.Tech sponsored by Wipro. Give a real example of balancing study with another commitment and explain how you'd plan your week. Be honest about what you'd find hard; that shows unyielding integrity.
12. Do you have any questions for us?
Ask about the training new joiners receive, the kind of projects freshers start on, or what a good first year looks like.
How to prepare for the Wipro interview
- Check the eligibility rules for your programme and batch before you register.
- Register only through Wipro's own pages, reached from careers.wipro.com.
- Practise all four skill areas of the online assessment under a timer, plus coding if you're applying for Elite.
- Practise writing short, clear paragraphs for the written communication part.
- Rehearse your project explanation out loud in two minutes.
- Prepare four or five STAR stories on teamwork, a mistake, a deadline and learning something fast. Our list of behavioural interview questions gives you more to practise on, and a mock interview helps you hear how you sound.
- Learn the Spirit of Wipro values and have one example for each.
- Ignore anyone asking for money or interviewing you over WhatsApp. Wipro does neither.
Practising realistic work tasks
The online assessment and the business discussion reward people who can solve problems and explain their thinking under time pressure, and that improves with practice on realistic tasks. Cohesyve, which publishes this guide, runs practice job simulations for your role, with a scored report on where you lost marks. It isn't affiliated with Wipro and doesn't use Wipro's tests or questions.
