Nagarro is a digital engineering company, and it hires through its careers site. Its applicant privacy notice (version 7.0, December 2025) describes the parts of its hiring process: online assessments with AI proctoring, interviews that may be recorded, an AI hiring assistant for early screening in India, and background verification.
Everything below comes from Nagarro's own pages, linked as we go. Where Nagarro doesn't say something, we say so. The interview questions are ones to prepare for; Nagarro doesn't publish its questions.
The Nagarro hiring process at a glance
Nagarro doesn't publish a fixed order of steps, and not every role uses every step. This is the shape its own pages describe:
| Step | What happens | What Nagarro publishes |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Apply | Search roles by keyword, expertise and city, or upload a CV for AI job recommendations, then apply through the linked form. | Upload PDF or DOCX under 5 MB. Open applications are welcome |
| 2. AI screening (India) | An AI hiring assistant may screen CVs and run the initial interview round. | You're told by email before an AI-enabled interview |
| 3. Online assessment | An online test, monitored by AI-powered proctoring. | Content, length and scoring not published |
| 4. Interviews | Technical and other interviews; technical interviews may be recorded. | Number of rounds and length not published |
| 5. Offer and checks | Background verification as the role requires; government ID collected at offer release. | No timeline published |
What is the Nagarro hiring process?
You apply through Nagarro's careers site, may take an online assessment, interview, and get an offer if you're selected, followed by any background checks the role needs. Nagarro's privacy notice says it processes candidate data to evaluate your skills, organise and conduct interviews, and take "other steps necessary" towards an employment contract.
Applying
- Search or upload. The India careers page lets you search by keyword, expertise and city, or upload a CV for job recommendations that "are generated using AI". Nagarro says an uploaded CV is deleted after 7 days if you don't apply, and isn't used to train AI.
- Say how much experience you have. The job search asks for your years of experience before showing roles.
- Remote roles. Where a job isn't available in your location, Nagarro's job search points to remote (work from anywhere) roles.
- No match? Nagarro invites open applications: "Feel free to send us your application anyway."
- Returning after a long break? Nagarro's Rejoyn programme is for people back from a long leave of absence. After you register, its recruitment team contacts you about open roles.

Does Nagarro have an online assessment?
Yes, for at least some roles. Nagarro's privacy notice says it records assessment test scores and uses an AI-powered proctoring system during online assessments. The system records your screen and video, and Nagarro's recruitment team reviews the recordings manually. Nagarro says the recordings aren't used for automated decisions.
Nagarro doesn't publish what the assessment contains, which platform it uses, how long it takes or how it's scored. Treat question counts, coding problem counts and cut-offs on prep sites as unconfirmed. Your invitation should say what to expect; ask the recruiter if it doesn't.
Our guide to interview test questions explains the main kinds of test, including aptitude and coding tests, and how to prepare for each. For a proctored test:
- Read the instructions in full before you start, including what's allowed on screen.
- Use a quiet room, a working camera and a reliable connection.
- Work as you normally would. Nagarro says the proctoring exists to keep the process fair.
What is the Nagarro interview process?
Nagarro doesn't publish the number of rounds or their length. Its privacy notice confirms these points:
- AI first round in India. Nagarro may use an AI hiring assistant to screen CVs and conduct the initial interview round. You'll get an email before an AI-enabled interview. A hiring manager then reviews the AI's recommendation with the audio or video recording and transcript, and Nagarro says "the final hiring decision is always made by a person".
- Technical interviews may be recorded, to catch anyone impersonating a candidate. In the EU, EEA and UK, Nagarro asks for consent first, and says declining won't count against you.
- Interview feedback is recorded as part of your application.
Prepare for technical questions on the skills in the job description and your projects, and for questions on how you work. Answer behavioural questions with the STAR method. Ask your recruiter what each round covers.
What happens after the Nagarro interview?
Nagarro doesn't publish how long results take. Its privacy notice says:
- Background verification may cover education, employment, identity and criminal history, as the nature of the work requires and the law permits.
- Government-issued ID is collected only at the time an offer is released, where the jurisdiction requires it.
- If you accept an offer, your pre-employment data becomes part of your personnel records.
Common Nagarro interview questions and how to answer them
These are questions to prepare for. Nagarro's core value is CARING, which its Reverse Application brochure and careers blog say stands for six values: Client-centric, Agile, Responsible, Intelligent, Non-hierarchical and Global. Its careers page says it wants people who "embrace challenge, embody intelligence, and move quickly". Several answers below draw on these.
1. Tell me about yourself.
Keep it to about a minute: your current role or degree, one piece of work you're proud of, the skills you'd bring and why Nagarro. End on the role you applied for.
2. Walk me through a project on your CV.
Explain the problem, your part, the technology and the result. Expect deep follow-up questions on anything you name, so mention only what you can explain.
3. Which programming language or technology are you strongest in?
Pick one and be ready for its fundamentals, how you'd debug a problem in it, and a trade-off you've made using it. Match it to the job description where you can.
4. Solve this problem and talk me through your approach.
For technical roles, you may be asked to work through a problem. Say how you understand the problem, choose an approach, handle edge cases and test it. Thinking aloud shows the Intelligent value Nagarro describes as thinking outside the box.
5. Why do you want to join Nagarro?
Be specific. Nagarro describes itself as flat and entrepreneurial, with colleagues who are "brave, creative, entrepreneurial, agile and responsible". Pick one of these that matches how you work and give an example.
6. Tell me about a time you put a client's or user's needs first.
Nagarro's Client-centric value says "Their problems are our problems". Use STAR: what the person needed, what you did beyond the obvious, and the result for them.
7. Tell me about a mistake you made and what you did about it.
Nagarro's Responsible value says "We celebrate our successes and own up to our mistakes." Choose a real mistake, own it without blaming others, and show what changed afterwards.
8. Describe a time you spoke up with an idea, even though you were junior.
Nagarro calls itself Non-hierarchical: "Every colleague has a voice." Show how you raised the idea, how you backed it with evidence and what happened.
9. How do you handle changing requirements?
Nagarro's Agile value is about the ability "to take one step at a time towards success". Describe a project where plans changed, how you adapted and how you kept the work moving.
10. Have you worked with people in other countries or time zones?
Nagarro's Global value says "We make distance irrelevant." If you have, describe how you communicated and handed over work. If you haven't, describe how you'd make remote collaboration work, with a real example from study or a team project.
11. How do you keep learning?
Give a recent example of a skill you taught yourself, how and why. It fits Nagarro's Intelligent value, which it links to expertise.
12. Do you have any questions for us?
Ask about the client industries the team serves, how projects are staffed across locations, or how the team measures a good first year.
How to prepare for the Nagarro interview
- Read the job description and list the skills and technologies it names.
- Revise the fundamentals of your main language or technology, and practise solving problems aloud.
- Get your setup ready for a proctored test: quiet room, camera, stable connection.
- If you're in India, prepare for an AI first round. Watch for the email notice, and answer as you would to a person, clearly and with examples.
- Learn the six CARING values and pair each with one story from your experience.
- Prepare four or five STAR stories on clients, mistakes, speaking up, change and teamwork. Our list of behavioural interview questions gives you more to practise on, and a mock interview helps you hear how you sound.
- Keep your education and employment documents ready for background verification.
Practising realistic work tasks
Nagarro's assessment and technical interviews reward people who can solve real problems and explain their thinking, and that improves with practice on realistic tasks. Cohesyve, which publishes this guide, runs practice job simulations for your role, with a scored report on where you lost marks. It isn't affiliated with Nagarro and doesn't use Nagarro's tests or questions.
