Infosys interviews test what you can do technically and how you'd fit its values. Its 2026 annual report says it relies on "a rigorous selection process involving evaluation of mathematical and logical aptitude, coding ability and in-depth interviews".
The process details below come from Infosys's own documents: its annual report on Form 20-F for the year to March 2026. Where Infosys doesn't say something, we say so. The interview questions are ones to prepare for; Infosys doesn't publish a question list.

What is the Infosys hiring process?
You apply, are evaluated on aptitude and coding, interview, and if you're selected you receive an offer followed by background verification and onboarding. Entry-level hires then join Infosys's Foundation Training Program.
Who Infosys hires
Infosys's annual report says it hires a significant number of fresh college graduates as well as experienced "laterals". For freshers, it recruits from campuses in India and in other countries, including the United States, the UK, Australia, Singapore, Japan, Germany, Canada, Mexico, Mauritius and China. It also hires developers, architects, technical leaders and project managers for digital, cloud and transformation work.
Routes in for freshers
- Campus hiring. Infosys says it has strong relationships with institutions in India and recruits students who have shown consistently high achievement.
- HackWithInfy. Infosys describes this as an online coding contest that helps it attract strong coders.
- InfyTQ. Infosys says students on its InfyTQ learning platform take assessments to earn the Infosys Certification. It doesn't say in the report how the certification is used in hiring, so don't assume it guarantees an interview.

What is the Infosys online assessment?
Infosys says its selection process evaluates mathematical and logical aptitude and coding ability as well as in-depth interviews. It doesn't say in the sources we checked whether the test is online or exactly where it falls in the process. Infosys also doesn't publish the sections, the number of questions, the time limit, whether there is negative marking or the cut-off in the sources we checked, so treat figures on prep sites as unconfirmed and follow the instructions in your test email.
Infosys names three things it evaluates. The topics in brackets are typical of aptitude and coding tests in general, not a published Infosys syllabus:
- Mathematical aptitude (percentages, ratios, speed and time, data interpretation).
- Logical aptitude (sequences, arrangements, reasoning puzzles).
- Coding ability (writing working code to solve a problem in a language you know well).
Our guide to psychometric assessments explains how aptitude tests are built and scored in general.
What is the Infosys interview process?
Infosys's annual report describes its interviews as "in-depth interviews". It doesn't publish how many rounds there are or how long they last, and this varies by role.
Infosys moved from virtual-only recruitment to a hybrid of virtual and in-person, and says it has introduced AI into its recruitment process. It doesn't say in the report how AI is used.
The technical interview
Infosys says it evaluates coding ability, so expect questions on your projects, the programming language you know best and the basics of your field. Practise writing and explaining code as you go.
The HR interview
Expect questions about why you want to join Infosys, how you work with others and how you learn. Infosys's values are a good guide to what it cares about. Its annual report lists them as Client Value, Leadership by Example, Integrity and Transparency, Fairness and Excellence, abbreviated to C-LIFE, and says they're set out in its Code of Conduct.
What happens after the Infosys interview?
If you're selected, you receive an offer. Infosys's annual report says it then runs background verification, and new joiners onboard through Launchpad, its self-service onboarding platform, which uses document checks and facial recognition to confirm your identity. Keep your certificates, ID and work history documents ready.
Entry-level hires join the Foundation Training Program, which Infosys says covers more than 40 technology streams and now includes generative AI and prompt engineering courses. It runs at the Global Education Center in Mysuru and in other locations. Infosys doesn't publish the length of the programme in its annual report.
Infosys doesn't publish when results are announced or how long it takes from interview to joining.
Common Infosys interview questions and how to answer them
Several answers below draw on C-LIFE and on what Infosys says it evaluates: aptitude, coding and in-depth interviews.
1. Walk me through your final-year project.
Infosys says its interviews are in-depth, so explain the problem, your part in it, the technology you used and why, and what you'd do differently. Expect follow-up questions on anything you list, so only include what you can explain in depth.
2. Which programming language are you most comfortable with?
Pick the one you can write without help. Infosys evaluates coding ability, so be ready to write a short program in it, explain its basics and say where you've used it.
3. Explain a concept from your core subjects.
Common topics in technical interviews generally, not an Infosys syllabus, are object-oriented programming, databases and SQL, data structures and operating systems. Explain the idea simply, then give an example of where you used it.
4. How did you solve the coding problem in your test?
Infosys evaluates coding ability, so talk through how you understood the problem, the approach you chose, its trade-offs and how you tested it. If you didn't finish, say what you'd do next. Honest reasoning counts for more than a polished story.
5. Why do you want to join Infosys?
Be specific. You could mention the Foundation Training Program and its generative AI courses, a client industry Infosys works in that interests you, or HackWithInfy if you took part. Link it to the role you've applied for.
6. Which of Infosys's values matters most to you?
Pick one of the C-LIFE values and give a real example of it from your studies or work. One value with a story is stronger than reciting all five.
7. Tell me about a time you went beyond what was asked for a user or client.
This maps to Client Value. Use the STAR method: the situation, what you did and the result. A classmate, a project guide or an internal team can stand in for a client.
8. Tell me about a time you led by example.
This maps to Leadership by Example. Describe a time you set the standard for a group, for instance by taking on the hard part of a project or keeping to a deadline when others slipped.
9. Tell me about a mistake you made and what you did about it.
This maps to Integrity and Transparency. Choose a real, small mistake, say how you raised it and what changed afterwards. Owning it is the point of the question.
10. Tell me about a disagreement with a teammate.
This maps to Fairness. Describe the disagreement fairly, how you listened to the other view and how you reached a decision. Avoid blaming the other person.
11. How do you learn a new technology quickly?
Infosys puts weight on learning, from its Foundation Training to generative AI courses for freshers. Give a recent example: what you learned, how you learned it and how soon you used it.
12. Are you willing to relocate or work in shifts?
Answer honestly. Infosys has offices and training centres in many locations, so say if you have a constraint now rather than after an offer.
How to prepare for the Infosys interview
- Practise aptitude questions, since Infosys evaluates mathematical and logical aptitude. General topics include percentages, ratios, data interpretation and logical reasoning until they feel routine.
- Code a problem a day, since Infosys evaluates coding ability, in the language you'll use in the test, and practise explaining your solution out loud.
- Revise your core subjects. Common general topics, not an Infosys syllabus, are object-oriented programming, databases and SQL, data structures and operating systems.
- Know your CV and projects in depth, including the parts teammates did.
- Learn the C-LIFE values and prepare a STAR story for each. Our list of behavioural interview questions gives you more to practise on.
- Do a mock interview with someone who will give you honest feedback, ideally on camera if your interview is virtual.
Practising realistic work tasks
Infosys evaluates aptitude and coding as well as interviewing, and both improve with practice on realistic tasks. Cohesyve, which publishes this guide, runs practice job simulations for your role, with a scored report on where you lost marks. It isn't affiliated with Infosys and doesn't use Infosys's assessments or questions.
