Domino’s Interview Questions and Hiring Process

The short answer

Most Domino’s store jobs are with independent franchisees, so the store owner runs the hiring: you apply online through jobs.dominos.com, the franchisee reviews your application and decides on interviews and offers. Interview questions focus on customer service, teamwork, reliability and, for drivers, safe driving. Domino’s doesn’t publish an interview format or a timeline.

  • If you’re hired at a franchise store, the franchisee is your only employer, so send questions about your application to that store.
  • One franchise driver posting we checked asked for drivers aged 18 or over with a valid licence, a safe driving record and access to an insured vehicle.
  • Domino’s names five values, including Do The Right Thing and Champion Our Customers. Use them in your answers.
  • Domino’s doesn’t publish a pre-hire test for store roles.

Cohesyve, which publishes this guide, runs practice job simulations with a scored report on where you lost marks. Cohesyve isn’t affiliated with Domino’s and doesn’t use Domino’s interview questions or assessments.

Domino's interview questions for store roles centre on customer service, teamwork, reliability and, for drivers, safe driving. Who asks them depends on who owns the store. Domino's says most of its stores are owned and operated by independent franchisees, and each franchisee is the sole employer of its staff and makes its own hiring decisions.

Everything below comes from Domino's careers site, its applicant privacy policy and its franchising page, linked as we go. Where Domino's doesn't say something, we say so.

What is the Domino's hiring process?

You apply online, the employer reviews your application, you interview, and if you're selected you get an offer and start training. Domino's doesn't publish a single process because, for most stores, the employer is a franchisee. The store jobs page says each franchisee is "alone responsible for all employment matters in their store", and if you're hired by one, it's your only employer.

That means two Domino's stores in the same town can hire differently. A franchise posting we checked says the franchisee independently makes all decisions on hiring, firing and scheduling.

How do you apply to Domino's?

Search jobs near you on jobs.dominos.com and click Apply Now on a posting. The store postings we checked were all labelled as franchise jobs and sent us to an external application page run for the franchisee.

Common store titles include delivery driver, customer service rep, shift runner and assistant manager. Read the posting before applying, because requirements vary by franchisee.

What does Domino's look for in delivery drivers?

Domino's delivery driver page says drivers split their time between the road and customers, and work with the store team to get orders right. It asks for "a high level of responsibility and determination" and accountability for order accuracy.

Requirements are set in each posting. One franchise driver posting we checked asked that you:

  • are at least 18;
  • have a valid driver's licence and a safe driving record meeting company standards;
  • have access to an insured vehicle you can use for delivery;
  • can read a map and find addresses in the delivery area, including in multi-storey buildings.

Check the posting for the store you're applying to, since another franchisee may ask for different things.

What does Domino's look for in pizza makers and customer service reps?

The pizza maker page describes taking orders, running the register, making pizzas, sides and desserts, and boxing meals for drivers. Domino's asks for excellent customer service skills, the ability to use store technology, help with store operations and a team player mentality. Its stores page says teamwork is "how we roll", with everyone pitching in where needed.

What happens in the Domino's interview?

Domino's doesn't publish an interview format, length or who will interview you, and franchisees run their own. Prepare to talk about the things Domino's says its store roles need: your availability, customer service, teamwork, order accuracy and, for drivers, your driving. Ask the store when you're invited how long to allow and who you'll meet.

Does Domino's have an assessment or background check?

Domino's doesn't publish a pre-hire test for store roles. Its applicant privacy policy, last updated March 2026, says Domino's may:

  • verify information from your application or interviews;
  • check your references;
  • run a background check where the law allows, using third-party providers;
  • use AI tools to help match candidates, schedule and summarise applications. Domino's says these give only non-binding information to human reviewers, and that every employment decision involves "meaningful human review and discretion".

Franchisees set their own checks, so ask the store what applies to you. If a franchisee does give you a test with workplace scenarios, our situational judgement test guide explains how that format works.

What are Domino's values?

Domino's lists five on its about us page:

ValueWhat Domino's says it means
Do The Right ThingAct with integrity and make disciplined decisions, even when they're difficult or unpopular
Put People FirstBuild an inclusive culture, because people are core to its success
Create Inspired SolutionsA company built on entrepreneurship and innovation
Champion Our CustomersDeliver on promises, and make it right when they aren't met
Grow And Win TogetherGrow, deliver results and celebrate wins together

Common Domino's interview questions and how to answer them

Domino's doesn't publish a question list, and each franchisee writes its own interview. The questions below are built from the duties and values Domino's publishes. Use the STAR method (situation, task, action, result) for "tell me about a time" questions.

1. Why do you want to work at Domino's?

Be specific: the pace, the teamwork, or the chance to move up. Domino's says more than 95% of its US franchisees started as part-time pizza makers or delivery drivers, which is a strong answer if you want to grow with the business.

2. What's your availability?

Give the shifts you can actually work, including evenings and weekends if you can. Match what you put on your application.

3. Tell me about a time you dealt with an unhappy customer.

This tests Champion Our Customers. Domino's says it makes things right when a promise isn't met, so show how you listened, fixed the problem or found someone who could, and kept your cool.

4. A customer says their order is wrong. What do you do?

Apologise, check the order, and follow the store's process to put it right. Domino's stresses order accuracy for drivers and in-store staff, so also mention checking orders before they leave.

5. How would you handle a rush when orders are backing up?

Domino's describes a store where everyone pitches in. Talk about staying calm, doing your own job well and helping where the team is stretched.

6. Tell me about a time you worked as part of a team.

This fits Grow And Win Together. Pick an example where the team's result mattered more than your part in it.

7. How is your driving record? (drivers)

Be honest. The posting we checked required a safe driving record meeting company standards, a valid licence and an insured vehicle. Mention how long you've been driving and that you know the area.

8. How do you stay safe on deliveries?

Talk about obeying traffic laws, planning routes, not using your phone while driving and being careful at night or in bad weather. Responsibility is the quality Domino's names for drivers.

9. A delivery address is hard to find. What do you do?

The driver posting we checked asked for map-reading and navigation skills. Say you'd check the map, call the customer if the store allows it, and tell the store if you're running late.

10. Tell me about a time you made a mistake at work.

This tests Do The Right Thing. Own the mistake, say how you fixed it and what you changed afterwards.

11. How comfortable are you with technology?

Pizza makers run the register and store technology. Mention point-of-sale systems, apps or tools you've learned quickly.

12. Where do you see yourself in a year? (shift runner or manager roles)

Domino's offers a training programme for people who want to become managers. If you want to lead, say so and explain what you'd learn first.

13. Do you have any questions for us?

Ask about training for new team members, how shifts are scheduled and what a good first month looks like.

How to prepare for a Domino's interview

  1. Read the posting for the store you applied to, especially requirements for drivers.
  2. Know your availability and be ready to commit to it.
  3. Prepare three or four short stories about customers, teamwork, reliability and a mistake you fixed. Our list of behavioural interview questions gives you more to practise on.
  4. Learn Domino's five values and link at least two of them to your stories.
  5. Drivers: bring your licence and know your insurance details, in case the store asks.
  6. Practise out loud, ideally in a mock interview with someone who'll give honest feedback.
  7. Contact the store directly if you haven't heard back. Domino's says the franchisee handles questions about its applications.

Practising realistic work tasks

Store interviews reward clear, honest examples, and judgement in busy situations improves with practice on realistic tasks. Cohesyve, which publishes this guide, runs practice job simulations for your role, with a scored report on where you lost marks. It isn't affiliated with Domino's and doesn't use Domino's interview questions or assessments.
