How do you apply to Aramark?

Search open roles on careers.aramark.com by city, state or region, and apply online.

  • You can apply for more than one role. Aramark's FAQ says so.
  • Match your experience to each role and update your resume. That's Aramark's own tip.
  • Experience isn't always required. For food service, Aramark says experience is "Not always" needed, many entry-level roles include hands-on training, and other customer service experience helps.
  • Hiring events. Aramark lists upcoming hiring events you can register for from its careers site.
  • Talent community. Sign up for job alerts if nothing nearby is open.
  • Current employees apply through a separate internal link.
  • Accommodations. If you need help with the online application because of a disability, Aramark gives a line for that: 1-844-441-myHR (6947). It's for accommodation requests only.

What happens after you apply to Aramark?

A recruiter reviews your application. Aramark says "Our recruiters review every application. If you're a match, expect a call or email to talk next steps." It doesn't say how long that takes, or whether you'll hear back if you're not a match.

What is the Aramark interview like?

Aramark says "Interviews are conducted by phone or video call." It doesn't publish how long they last or how many rounds there are.

Have a quiet spot, a charged phone and your availability to hand. For video calls, test your camera and connection first.

Does Aramark have an assessment or test?

For some food service roles, yes. Aramark says "an on-site test may also be required." It doesn't say which roles, what the test involves or how it's judged. Ask your recruiter what to expect and what to bring.

Aramark's general management and facilities pages mention no test. The short quiz on the careers site helps you explore career paths; it isn't part of hiring.

What happens after the Aramark interview?

If you're a match, Aramark makes an offer. Once your paperwork is complete, it starts a background check, and after that clears you begin onboarding and training. Aramark doesn't publish its background-check criteria or how long the check takes.

For facilities roles, Aramark says safety training starts at onboarding and continues throughout your employment.

What does Aramark look for?

Aramark's culture page lists four values:

ValueHow to show it
We value our differences through inclusionShow you work well with people from different backgrounds.
We care deeply for our people and our planetShow you look after customers, colleagues and your workplace.
We thrive by embracing opportunityShow you take on new tasks and step up when needed.
We're committed to learning and growingShow you want to build skills and grow your career.

By role, Aramark says customer service experience helps in food service, and that general manager roles favour "a background in leadership, operations, or people management." Facilities pages stress dedication, attention to detail and safety.

Aramark also says it fills more than half of its salaried roles from within, so entry-level roles can lead somewhere.

Common Aramark interview questions and how to answer them

Aramark doesn't publish its questions. These are the kinds of questions its roles and values point to, with how to answer each for Aramark. Use the STAR method for the "tell me about a time" ones.

1. Why do you want to work at Aramark?

Be specific about the setting. Aramark serves stadiums, campuses, hospitals and workplaces, so say why that location appeals, and mention training or growth if you want to build a career.

2. Tell me about a time you gave great customer service.

Aramark says customer service experience helps in food service. Describe what the customer needed, what you did and how it ended.

3. How would you handle an unhappy customer?

Stadiums, campuses and hospitals all have rushes. Explain how you kept up, prioritised and kept quality steady.

5. How do you make sure food safety or safety rules are followed?

Aramark stresses safety, especially in facilities. Talk about handwashing, temperature checks, cleaning schedules or following procedures even when busy. If you're new, say how you'd learn the rules quickly.

6. Tell me about a time you worked as part of a team.

Food service and facilities work depend on teams. Show how you helped colleagues and what the team achieved.

7. What is your availability?

Be honest about shifts, weekends and events you can work. Many Aramark roles are tied to venues and seasons, so clarity helps.

This fits "We value our differences through inclusion". Show respect and good communication.

10. Tell me about a time you led a team or solved an operational problem. (Managers)

Aramark highlights internal promotion and learning programmes. A genuine answer about building skills and taking on more responsibility fits.

Our lists of behavioural interview questions and situational interview questions give you more to practise with.
