Juspay Interview Questions and Hiring Process

The short answer

Juspay doesn’t publish its hiring process or interview rounds. Its careers page is the place to find and apply for roles, and on 27 October 2026 it said there were no global openings. To prepare, learn Juspay’s seven-principle "Juspay formula", its reliability tenets and its open-source payments code.

  • Juspay builds payments infrastructure: orchestration, checkout, authentication, tokenisation, payouts and reconciliation.
  • Its careers page describes a team of "engineers, artists, musicians, and designers".
  • Juspay’s GitHub organisation lists Haskell, TypeScript and Rust as its top languages, and its open-source Hyperswitch is written in Rust.
  • Round lists you see on prep sites are candidate reports, not Juspay’s own description.

Cohesyve, which publishes this guide, runs free practice job simulations with a scored report. Cohesyve isn’t affiliated with Juspay and doesn’t use Juspay’s interview questions.

Juspay doesn't publish its hiring process. Its careers page is where roles are listed and where you apply; beyond that, the company doesn't describe its interview rounds, tests or timeline on any page we could find. When we checked on 27 October 2026, the page said: "No global job openings available at the moment."

This guide sticks to what Juspay itself publishes: what it builds, how it says it works, and its engineering principles. Those are the best guide to what its interviewers will care about. Where Juspay is silent, we say so.

What is the Juspay hiring process?

Juspay hasn't published one. You find a role on its careers page, apply, interview and receive a decision, but Juspay doesn't describe the stages in between, how long they take or whether there is an online test.

You will find detailed round-by-round accounts on interview prep sites and forums. They are reported by candidates, they vary by role and year, and Juspay hasn't confirmed them, so don't rely on any one of them as the official process. Your recruiter is the right person to ask.

Where do you find and apply for Juspay jobs?

On juspay.io/careers. Juspay says "We are looking for talented people" and lists hubs in Bangalore, São Paulo, San Francisco, Dublin and Singapore. Bangalore is its headquarters, according to its about page.

On 27 October 2026 the page said there were no global openings and asked visitors to "check back later for new opportunities". Openings change, so check again before you assume there's nothing for you. Apply through Juspay's own page and be wary of anyone offering a Juspay job through another channel.

What is the Juspay interview process?

Juspay doesn't publish its interview process: not the number of rounds, whether there's a coding test, or who you'll meet. Ask your recruiter for the format and length of each round once you're shortlisted. It's a normal question and the answer tells you what to practise.

What Juspay does publish is how it thinks about engineering. Its about page lists "Tenets for 10X", a set of reliability rules for payment systems that run at very large scale. They include:

  • abundant redundancy, active-active systems and instant failover;
  • a critical path that is "100x strong, utterly simple";
  • reducing the blast radius of failures;
  • automatic anomaly detection and root cause analysis;
  • mandatory staggering, A/B testing and rollback for all changes;
  • load, failure and chaos testing in production;
  • an "RCA/CoE process, done with rigour and made sacred";
  • org-wide collective ownership of production reliability.

If you're interviewing for an engineering role, expect your answers to be judged against ideas like these, whatever the round is called.

Does Juspay have an online test?

Juspay doesn't say. None of its careers, about, blog or newsroom pages mention an online assessment, a coding test or a hiring challenge. If you're asked to take one, your recruiter or the invitation should explain the format; confirm the invitation comes from Juspay before you start.

What happens after the Juspay interview?

Juspay doesn't publish what happens after interviews or how long a decision takes. Ask your recruiter at the start when you can expect to hear back, and follow up once if that date passes.

What does Juspay look for?

Juspay describes its values as "The Juspay formula", seven principles on its about page:

PrincipleWhat Juspay means by it
Maximize Value Creation"Create value from nothing. Do more with less"
Take big, courageous moves in the right direction"De-risk, create a cushion & then jump 10X"
Unify-bring order to chaos"Simplify with fundamentals, think with first principles"
Open up-bring creativity to break rigidity"Break the invalid assumptions/rules"
Enable people to create 10X magicHelp people discover their potential and develop "a depth seeking mindset"
Focus on software & design platform/blocksComputing grows exponentially, and digital product design has a lot left to explore
Harmonize convergence & divergenceBalance order and chaos; "be responsible for the greater good"

Its careers page adds a line about the culture: "We come together to build in real time, move ideas forward, and never stop asking the whys." The team it describes is "engineers, artists, musicians, and designers", so design and craft matter there as well as code.

Juspay interview questions to prepare for

Juspay doesn't publish its interview questions. The questions below are standard interview questions, each paired with how to answer it using what Juspay says about itself. Use them to prepare stories and explanations, then adapt them to the role you've applied for.

1. Why do you want to work at Juspay?

Be specific about the product. Juspay builds payments infrastructure for merchants and banks: payment orchestration, checkout, 3DS and authentication, tokenisation, payouts and reconciliation. Pick the area closest to your role, say what interests you about the problem, and connect it to something you've built.

2. Walk me through a system you built, from first principles.

Juspay's "Unify" principle says: "Simplify with fundamentals, think with first principles." Start with the problem and its constraints, then explain each design decision and the alternative you rejected. Interviewers can then follow the reasoning instead of a list of technologies.

3. How would you make this service highly available?

This maps straight onto Juspay's reliability tenets. Talk about redundancy and failover, keeping the critical path simple, limiting the blast radius when something fails, and how you'd detect anomalies early. Name the trade-offs, such as cost and complexity.

4. How would you ship a risky change to a payment flow?

Juspay's tenets make staggering, A/B testing and rollback "mandatory" for all changes. Describe a staged rollout, the metrics you'd watch, the trigger for rolling back and how you'd test failure cases before and after release.

5. Tell me about an incident you handled and what you learnt.

Juspay says its RCA process is "done with rigour and made sacred" and that production reliability is everyone's job. Explain how you found the cause, how you communicated during the incident, what you changed afterwards so it couldn't recur, and what you'd do differently.

6. Tell me about a time you challenged an assumption everyone else accepted.

This fits "Open up-bring creativity to break rigidity", which asks people to "break the invalid assumptions/rules". Show how you tested the assumption, how you persuaded others with evidence, and what happened as a result. If it turned out the assumption was right, say what you learnt.

7. Tell me about a time you delivered more with less.

This fits "Maximize Value Creation", which Juspay sums up as "Do more with less". Good examples include removing a slow step, reusing an existing component or cutting scope to ship the part that mattered.

8. Tell me about the boldest decision you've made at work.

This fits "Take big, courageous moves in the right direction". Juspay's version is to "de-risk, create a cushion & then jump". Describe the bet, how you limited the downside before committing, and the outcome.

9. What have you built that other people reused?

Juspay's "Focus on software & design platform/blocks" principle puts software platforms and building blocks at the centre. Talk about a library, component or internal tool you designed for reuse, how you kept its interface simple, and who adopted it.

10. How do you learn a new language or codebase quickly?

Juspay's GitHub organisation lists Haskell, TypeScript and Rust as its top languages, and its open-source Hyperswitch payments project is written in Rust. If your background is in other languages, give a recent example of picking up something unfamiliar, and how you got productive in it.

11. How have you helped a teammate get better?

This fits "Enable people to create 10X magic", which is about helping people discover their potential. Describe a time you reviewed, taught or unblocked someone, what changed in their work and what you learnt from it.

12. What questions do you have for us?

Ask about the team's systems, how on-call and incident reviews work, and how the role is measured. Asking about the reliability tenets in practice shows you've read them.

How to prepare for a Juspay interview

  1. Check the careers page for a role that fits, and read its description closely.
  2. Read Juspay's about page and learn the seven principles and the reliability tenets well enough to discuss them.
  3. Understand the products for the team you're applying to, such as orchestration, tokenisation or reconciliation.
  4. Read some of Juspay's open-source code, such as Hyperswitch on GitHub, especially for engineering roles.
  5. Prepare six to eight stories about systems you built, incidents you handled and decisions you made. Our STAR method guide shows how to structure them, and our behavioural interview questions give you more to practise on.
  6. Ask your recruiter for the number, format and length of the rounds.
  7. Do a mock interview with someone who will question your design decisions.
