CrowdStrike Interview Process 2026: Stages and Questions

The short answer

CrowdStrike says its hiring team reviews your application, a recruiter reaches out if you’re a strong fit, and the process has up to three rounds of interviews, plus a technical assessment for technical roles. That description comes from its Emerging Talent FAQ; CrowdStrike doesn’t publish separate steps or a timeline for experienced hires.

  • Prepare answers that show CrowdStrike’s core values: fanatical about the customer, relentlessly focused on innovation, and limitless passion.
  • CrowdStrike says it hires on merit, excellence and alignment to its mission of stopping breaches.
  • CrowdStrike doesn’t publish what its technical assessment contains or which platform it uses.
  • CrowdStrike never interviews by instant message or group chat, never asks for payment and doesn’t ask you to download software for interviews.

CrowdStrike's interview process runs from an application review to recruiter outreach and up to three rounds of interviews, and technical roles also require a technical assessment. That's how CrowdStrike describes it in the Emerging Talent FAQ on its careers site. It doesn't publish a separate process, interview format or timeline for experienced hires, so treat these steps as the outline and confirm the details with your recruiter.

Everything below comes from CrowdStrike's own careers pages and blog, linked as we go. Where CrowdStrike doesn't say something, we say so rather than guess.

What is the CrowdStrike hiring process?

You apply online, CrowdStrike's hiring team reviews your profile, and a recruiter reaches out if you look like a strong fit for the role. The recruiter then gives you information specific to the position and its process. CrowdStrike says the process has up to three rounds of interviews, and technical positions also require a technical assessment. It doesn't publish where the assessment falls in the process.

Hiring for roles like the ones at CrowdStrike?

Cohesyve takes a job description, finds candidates, reaches out to them and runs an AI job simulation of the real work, then returns a ranked shortlist. Ten candidates free, no card.

How do you apply to CrowdStrike?

Apply through the careers site, which lists openings by team: sales and marketing; engineering and technology; research and development and intelligence; professional services; HR, finance, legal and operations; and the Emerging Talent Program.

CrowdStrike says you can apply to more than one position. If you're not sure which role fits, you can join its talent community, and CrowdStrike says it'll be in touch when a matching opportunity opens.

CrowdStrike also warns about recruitment scams that copy its hiring process. Its real process doesn't involve:

  • interviews by instant message or group chat;
  • requests for your date of birth, social security number or national ID number during interviews;
  • buying products or services, or processing payments on CrowdStrike's behalf;
  • downloading software for an interview.

If you're unsure whether a message is genuine, CrowdStrike asks you to contact recruiting@crowdstrike.com.

What is the CrowdStrike recruiter screen?

If the hiring team thinks you're a strong fit, a member of the recruiting team reaches out with information about the position and the process. CrowdStrike doesn't publish what this conversation covers or how long it lasts.

Use it to ask what the rest of your process looks like: whether there's a technical assessment, how many interview rounds to expect and who you'll meet.

Does CrowdStrike have a technical assessment?

Yes, for technical positions. CrowdStrike's Emerging Talent FAQ says applicants for technical positions "are also required to complete a technical assessment". It doesn't publish what the assessment contains, how long it takes, how it's scored or which platform it runs on.

If your invitation comes from an online coding platform, our guides to the HackerRank test and the Codility test explain how those formats generally work. Check the invitation for the platform name before you prepare.

What are the CrowdStrike interview rounds?

CrowdStrike says its hiring process consists of up to three rounds of interviews. It doesn't publish what each round covers, who conducts it or how long it lasts, and the content will differ between, say, an engineering role and a sales role.

The careers site does say what each part of the business does, which tells you what to prepare:

TeamWhat CrowdStrike says the work involvesWhat to prepare
Engineering and technologyDistributed systems and data at massive scale; fluid roles with end-to-end problem solvingDepth on systems you've built and the trade-offs you made
R&D and intelligenceProcessing trillions of events weekly to detect and stop sophisticated adversariesDetection, analysis and how you reason about threats
Professional servicesInvestigating and mitigating some of the most sophisticated attacks in the worldIncident handling under pressure and clear communication
Sales and marketingTurning technology into solutions for leading organisations, with security expertise and business acumenHow you've won and grown accounts, and how you explain technical value
HR, finance, legal and operationsBuilding the systems, policies and programmes that keep the company running; owning problems end-to-endExamples of owning a complex problem across teams

What does CrowdStrike look for in candidates?

CrowdStrike lists three core values on its careers page: it is fanatical about the customer, relentlessly focused on innovation, and believes limitless passion drives unlimited potential for every CrowdStriker.

Its mission is stopping breaches; the careers site calls stopping breaches "a team sport". CrowdStrike says it maintains "the highest standards in talent because our mission demands nothing less", and in a February 2025 post said it hires based on "merit, excellence, and alignment to our mission".

So in every round, show three things: you care about the customer and the mission, you improve how things are done, and you bring energy to learning fast.

CrowdStrike interview questions and how to answer them

CrowdStrike doesn't publish its interview questions. The questions below are ones to prepare because they test the values and work CrowdStrike describes. Answer the "tell me about a time" questions in STAR form: situation, task, action, result.

1. Tell me about yourself.

Two minutes, ending with why this role. Lead with the experience closest to the team's work as CrowdStrike describes it, from the table above.

2. Why CrowdStrike?

CrowdStrike hires for alignment to its mission, so tie your answer to stopping breaches. Say what part of that mission your role supports and why it matters to you. Generic praise for the company won't show alignment.

3. Tell me about a time you went above and beyond for a customer.

This tests "fanatical about the customer". For internal roles, your customer may be another team. Show that you understood their problem, acted on it and checked it was solved.

4. Tell me about something you built or changed that made a process better.

This tests "relentlessly focused on innovation". Explain the old way, why it fell short, what you changed and how you measured the improvement.

5. Describe a time you had to learn something new quickly.

This tests "limitless passion". Choose a real example with a deadline, explain how you learned and show the result. Mention what you've learned recently on your own time if it's relevant to the role.

6. Tell me about a time you had to act fast under pressure.

CrowdStrike's careers page says today's attacks take only minutes to succeed. Show how you prioritised, communicated and stayed accurate when time was short.

7. Tell me about a problem you owned from start to finish.

CrowdStrike says its engineering roles are fluid and involve end-to-end problem solving, and its HR, finance, legal and operations roles own complex problems end-to-end. Pick an example where you saw the problem through without handing it off.

8. For engineering roles: walk me through a system you designed.

Expect depth. Cover the requirements, the scale, the design choices, what you'd change and how you tested it. CrowdStrike's engineers work with distributed systems and data at massive scale, so be ready to discuss performance and reliability.

9. For security roles: how would you investigate a suspicious alert on an endpoint?

Talk through your approach in order: confirm the alert, gather context, scope how far it reaches, contain it and document what you found. Interviewers want to hear your reasoning, so explain why you'd take each step.

10. Tell me about a time you disagreed with a teammate.

Stopping breaches is "a team sport" in CrowdStrike's words. Show that you disagreed on the substance, listened, and backed the team's final decision.

11. Tell me about a time you failed.

Choose a real failure, own it and explain what you changed afterwards. A high-standards culture values people who learn quickly from mistakes.

12. What questions do you have for us?

Ask how the team measures success, what the first few months look like, and how the team works with others across CrowdStrike.

Our list of behavioural interview questions gives you more to practise on.

How long does the CrowdStrike hiring process take?

CrowdStrike doesn't publish a timeline. For the Emerging Talent Program, it says its hiring team evaluates candidates throughout the recruiting season and that the Emerging Talent team will reach out if a team is interested.

Emerging Talent dates CrowdStrike does publish:

ItemWhat CrowdStrike says
When to applyApplications open from September, for internships and full-time roles
US internshipA 12-week summer programme that begins in May or June
Outside the USThe internship schedule varies and is arranged case by case
Re-applyingEncouraged; highlight new skills, projects, internships or coursework

How to prepare for the CrowdStrike interview process

  1. Ask your recruiter for the outline: the number of rounds, whether there's a technical assessment and who you'll meet.
  2. Learn the three core values and prepare a STAR story for each.
  3. Know the mission. Be able to say how your role helps stop breaches.
  4. For technical roles, practise problems on the platform named in your assessment invitation, and revise the systems or security areas in the job description.
  5. Prepare six to eight stories covering customers, innovation, fast learning, pressure, ownership, disagreement and failure.
  6. Practise out loud, ideally in a mock interview with someone who will challenge you.
  7. Check every message is genuine. CrowdStrike doesn't interview by chat, ask for payment or ask you to install software.

Practising realistic work tasks

Interviews reward prepared stories. Technical assessments reward skill on realistic tasks, and that improves with practice. Cohesyve, which publishes this guide, runs practice job simulations for your role, with a scored report on where you lost marks. It isn't affiliated with CrowdStrike and doesn't use CrowdStrike's assessments or questions.
