BYJU'S doesn't publish a step-by-step interview process. Its careers pages describe one hiring route in detail, the Business Development Associate (BDA) role: you apply online with your resume, a recruiter contacts you, and selected candidates go through a training process as Trainees before being promoted to Associate. For other roles, BYJU'S doesn't say how it interviews.
Everything below comes from BYJU'S own careers pages and from Reuters, linked as we go. Where BYJU'S doesn't say something, we say so.
BYJU'S hiring process at a glance
| Step | What happens | What BYJU'S publishes |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Apply | For BDA roles, fill in the form at byjus.com/apply with your city, sales circle, qualification and resume. | The form fields; other roles are grouped by department on the careers page |
| 2. Recruiter contact | A recruiter gets in touch about your application. | "Our recruiters will connect with you soon" |
| 3. Selection | Interviews or assessments for the role. | Rounds, tests and timeline not published |
| 4. Training | Selected BDA candidates join a training process under a Trainee profile. | Length of training not published |
| 5. Associate | On completing training, Trainees are promoted to Associate. | Promotion "upon successful completion of training" |
What is the BYJU'S hiring process?
For BDA roles, it is the five steps above. BYJU'S lists the role's skills and what happens after selection, but it doesn't publish the interview rounds, whether there's an aptitude test, or how long the process takes. Ask the recruiter who contacts you for the format and number of rounds.
Before you invest time, check the role is live. BYJU'S careers page groups jobs into 14 departments, from Academics and Tech to Business Development, Mentoring and Customer Support. When we checked on 27 October 2026, the department "View Jobs" links we tried returned an error or an unrelated page, while the BDA application form was still online.
The company has also been through a difficult period. Reuters reported in February 2024 that Byju's US unit had filed for bankruptcy in the United States and that the company had laid off thousands of employees. That report is not the latest news, so check the company's current status in recent news before you apply, and ask your recruiter about the role's team and stability.

How do you apply to BYJU'S?
For a Business Development Associate role, use the form at byjus.com/apply. It asks for:
- the office city and sales circle you're applying for;
- your highest qualification and the year you completed it;
- your resume (up to 5 MB).
For other departments, BYJU'S directs you to its careers page. Apply through BYJU'S own pages and be wary of anyone who offers a BYJU'S job through another channel or asks you to pay.
What does a BYJU'S Business Development Associate do?
BYJU'S says selected candidates start as individual contributors "working in a team of go-getters", showcasing its way of learning to students and parents, and are "responsible for mentoring and sales in their designated zone". The role combines selling with guiding students, so expect your interviews to test both.
The skills BYJU'S lists for the role are:
- a keen interest in and deep understanding of the Indian education sector;
- an interest in mentoring and guiding students;
- "a knack for sales";
- good interpersonal and presentation skills.
What happens in the BYJU'S interview?
BYJU'S doesn't publish its interview format, the number of rounds or who conducts them, for BDA or any other role. Candidate accounts on forums and prep sites describe different formats, and BYJU'S hasn't confirmed any of them.
What you can rely on is the skills list above and the company's values. Prepare to show sales ability, an interest in students' learning and clear communication, and ask your recruiter what each round involves once you're contacted.
Does BYJU'S have an aptitude or online test?
BYJU'S doesn't say. Its careers pages don't mention an aptitude test, online assessment or assessment platform. If you're invited to one, confirm the invitation came from BYJU'S and ask the recruiter about the format.
What happens after you're selected at BYJU'S?
For BDA roles, BYJU'S says "all selected candidates will be part of a Training Process under a Trainee profile", and that candidates who complete the training successfully are promoted to Associate. It doesn't publish how long the training lasts or what it covers, so ask during the process.

BYJU'S interview questions to prepare for
BYJU'S doesn't publish its interview questions. These are common interview questions for sales, mentoring and education roles, each with how to answer it using what BYJU'S says it looks for.
1. Tell me about yourself.
Keep it under two minutes: your education, any sales, teaching or customer-facing experience, and why you want a role in education. BYJU'S asks for good presentation skills, so treat this answer as your first presentation.
2. Why do you want to work at BYJU'S?
Link your answer to its mission of being "a companion for every learner" and to the value "Nurturing active learners". A short personal reason, such as a subject you struggled with until someone explained it well, is stronger than general praise.
3. Why are you interested in a sales role?
BYJU'S lists "a knack for sales" as a required skill. Give a real example of persuading someone, hitting a target or turning a no into a yes, even from college or a part-time job. Show that you enjoy talking to people and can handle rejection.
4. Sell this product to me.
This is a common sales interview exercise. Ask questions first to understand the buyer's needs, then connect the product's features to those needs, handle one objection and ask for a decision. For BYJU'S, frame the "buyer" as a parent who wants the best for their child.
5. A parent says the course is too expensive. What do you say?
Acknowledge the concern, ask what matters most to them about their child's learning, and explain the value in those terms. Never pressure or mislead; BYJU'S lists "Delivering the best and building trust" as a core value.
6. How would you explain a difficult concept to a student?
The BDA role includes "mentoring and guiding students". Pick a concept you know well, explain it simply with an example, and check the student understood. This shows the "Nurturing active learners" value in action.
7. What do you know about the Indian education sector?
BYJU'S asks for "a keen interest and deep understanding of the Indian education sector". Be ready to talk about school boards and competitive exams, how students prepare for them, and how online learning fits alongside schools and coaching centres.
8. Tell me about a target you missed and what you did next.
Sales roles involve targets, and interviewers want to see resilience. Explain what went wrong, what you changed, and what happened the next time. This fits "Dreaming big and learning everyday".
9. How do you handle rejection?
Give a specific example of a rejection, how you reflected on it and how you kept going. Being positive is part of BYJU'S "Being H.A.P.P.Y" value, so show how you stay motivated without being dismissive.
10. Tell me about a time you used technology to solve a problem.
This fits "Driving change through technology". A spreadsheet that tracked your leads, an app you used to teach or a tool that saved your team time all work as examples.
11. Are you comfortable working in your designated zone?
BYJU'S says BDAs are responsible for sales "in their designated zone", and the application asks for your office city and sales circle. Be honest about which office city and sales circle you can work in.
12. What questions do you have for us?
Ask about the training process, how performance is measured, what a typical day looks like and the team you'd join. Asking about the training shows you've read what BYJU'S says about the role.
