The job description is sent to an AI model to write the result, and isn’t stored. Leave out anything confidential. Check the result before you use it.

Interview kit builder

What it is

What is an interview kit?

An interview kit is the set of questions an interviewer asks for a role, with a note on what a good answer contains and a place to rate it. It turns an interview into a structured interview: every candidate gets the same questions and is rated on the same scale.

Paste the job description and this builder works out the competencies the role needs, weights them, and writes two questions for each, behavioural or a short work sample, with what a strong and a weak answer sound like and follow-ups to probe. Each competency gets a 1–4 rating guide on the same scale as the interview scorecard builder, and the kit ends with a plan for the interview rounds.

How to use it

Same questions, same scale.

  • Read the kit before the first interview and edit anything that doesn’t fit the job as you know it. Then ask the same questions of every candidate.
  • On a panel, give each interviewer their own competencies, as the plan suggests, so each skill is probed properly instead of everyone asking a little of everything.
  • Write down what the candidate said next to each rating. The note matters more in the debrief than the number.
  • Rate each answer before you talk to the other interviewers, so the first opinion doesn’t set everyone else’s.

Questions

About interview kits.

What is the difference between an interview kit and a scorecard?
An interview kit is the questions to ask, with what to look for in each answer. A scorecard is the criteria you rate the candidate on overall, with their weights. Many teams use both: the kit during the interview, the scorecard to sum up. This kit includes the scorecard, and can open it in the scorecard builder.
How many questions should one interview have?
Few enough to ask each one properly, with follow-up questions. The kit spreads the competencies across rounds, so no single interviewer has to ask every question.
Can I change the questions?
Yes. Click any question, answer guide, follow-up or rating guide to edit it, change a competency’s weight, or remove a competency. Your changes go into the copies, the CSV and the print.
What happens to the job description I paste?
It is sent to an AI model to write the kit and isn’t stored by Cohesyve. It is never put in the page address. Leave out anything confidential, and check the kit before you use it.
